A campus hiring platform should help your team execute that programme with visibility at every stage. Choosing one starts with your hiring plan, not a feature demonstration. Here is a checklist you can use with vendors and your own stakeholders.<\/p>\n
Before comparing products, write down the shape of your next hiring season:<\/p>\n
If your team runs several campus drives at the same time, check whether recruiters can track candidates and schedule interviews across all of them in one place. During a demo, ask the vendor to show what happens when a student applies to two roles or an interviewer needs to reschedule.<\/p>\n
Reach is useful only if the right students can discover a role, understand eligibility and apply without unnecessary friction. Check whether recruiters can target institutions and batches, publish role-specific criteria, manage employer branding and see where eligible applications came from.<\/p>\n
Ask what happens after an application arrives. Can the team identify duplicates, check eligibility and maintain one candidate record through every round? A large application count is less useful when recruiters cannot tell which candidates are qualified or available.<\/p>\n
A software engineering role, a customer-facing role and an analyst role should not all use the same test simply because it is convenient. Look for relevant assessment formats, customisation, consistent scoring and a clear way to review results.<\/p>\n
If you already have an assessment provider, ask how its scores enter the hiring workflow. Check identity and proctoring options where they matter, but also ask what a recruiter sees when a session is flagged and how an exception is resolved. Check how much of this process recruiters can manage in one place. If they still need spreadsheets, separate feedback forms and repeated follow-ups with interviewers, factor that work into your evaluation.<\/p>\n
Questions worth asking include: Can interviewers see the right context? Can the team compare feedback across panels? Who can change a decision? Can a recruiter find the reason for a decision months later?<\/p>\n
Your hiring target is usually joiners, not completed assessments. Check how the platform handles offer approvals, document collection, offer letters, acceptance tracking and data transfer to the HRMS. Ask what recruiters can do when an offer is delayed or a candidate declines.<\/p>\n
Check whether the platform shows when an offer is awaiting approval, when it was sent and whether the candidate accepted it. This helps recruiters follow up on delays before a selected candidate drops out.<\/p>\n
A useful campus hiring report should show the funnel by campus, role and stage: eligible applicants, assessment completion, interview conversion, offers, acceptances and joiners. It should also show how long candidates wait between stages and where recruiter time is going.<\/p>\n
